21 Super Easy AIP Desserts

Today, I bring you a whole bunch of easy AIP desserts (autoimmune paleo desserts).

In case you don’t know what AIP is, (I sure didn’t until about a year and a half ago), the AIP Diet (otherwise known as the Autoimmune Paleo Diet or the Autoimmune Protocol Diet) has been gaining popularity all over the world.

There are both good and bad reasons for that.

The bad reason for the popularity of the AIP diet is that autoimmune disease is on the rise.  The incidents of things like Crohn’s, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, Graves, IBS, and more, have been increasing. (Source)

The good reason for the popularity of the AIP diet is that people are trying to find more natural ways to support their bodies as they deal with autoimmune conditions.

The AIP Diet

The AIP (autoimmune paleo) Diet removes foods that have been known to aggravate the health of those with autoimmune conditions.

Remove those foods and the body calms down.

Basically, this is a diet free of grains, nightshades, nuts, seeds, dairy, and eggs.

S0 — what CAN you eat on this diet?  A LOT!

Help for Your Special Diet

In any case, one of the things that is hard about going on and staying on a special diet, is finding recipes that work, that are delicious, and that are easy.

Being on a special diet is hard enough as it is, but there aren’t many “grab and go” AIP food stuffs in the stores, so you pretty much are needing to make your own.

And though I love cooking, life is busy and I don’t want to spend my entire life there.

In the interest of making it easy for you all to try out this diet (or to pass it on to someone you love who has an autoimmune condition), I’ve rounded up some fabulous easy desserts.

It’s hard enough being on a special diet, so I think that having treats in moderation is a good way to help you stay on track.

And even if you aren’t on the AIP diet, and don’t have an autoimmune disease, these desserts look so good I’m sure you will be excited to try them for yourself!

Also, if you are on a low-carb or keto diet, many of these recipes will work for you as well just by changing out the sweeteners.

    1. Hi there – the ones that aren’t initially AIP are easily adaptable and those notes are provided in the recipes. Or at least, they should be. Did you find one where that wasn’t the case? I try very hard to make my recipes adaptable whenever possible, but sometimes there is a glitch. Thanks for reading!

  2. Please be careful when labeling this as nut-free. In the food allergy world, coconut is considered a treenut. Someone might accidently make this for an individual that has that allergy.

    Most people who are allergic know they are, however, people newer to the food allergy community, might not.

      Thanks for reading and for commenting. My understanding is that it’s not classified as a tree nut in the food allergy world. But some think it is.       My son has tree nut allergies but he can have macadamias and almonds, which is great. I hope to add more to his diet when we can!

    1. Hello Elise. You are right that cocoa isn’t AIP, but the recipe clearly states that you can use carob for an AIP alternative. I do hope that you try them and that you like them. They are one of our favorites.

  7. Just wanted to tell you how much I loved the recipe you sent for the breakfast cookies. Oh my gosh, everyone in my family LOVED THEM!!!! They aren’t really lovers of healthy food. I made a double recipe using chia seeds in place of flax and took them to work, everyone is of course on a diet and would not eat sugar laden cookies. They ate all I brought and were begging for the recipe and more cookies that were healthy.

        1. Yes, but some people aren’t following the AIP diet so it’s fine for them….or perhaps they are and have found that seeds are not a problem for them.

      1. Thank you! I’m already feeling SO MUCH better after just a few months of being gluten free. I have heard about the dairy intolerance, I found it really surprising at first. Fortunately, I haven’t shown any signs of a dairy intolerance.
