If you’ve been reading here for awhile, you may have noticed the plethora of dairy-free recipes on my site.
I don’t have a “thing” against dairy, per se, but my son has a life threatening dairy allergy that showed up when he was an infant.
For more on the messola that food allergies caused in our family, you can read Eczema and Food Allergies–from Despair to Healing.
As a result, we’ve been using dairy-free alternatives for a loooong time now.

Dairy-Free Appetizers
Nut Butter Fruit Dip
This dip is a super-healthy alternative to those caramel dips that are loaded with high fructose corn syrup, preservatives and such. We love it for dipping fruit (of course), but it’s also a great drizzle for cakes, cookies, pancakes, or fabulous eaten just off the spoon :).
Almond Feta
Dairy-Free Main Dishes
Pakistani Kima
Egg Roll in a Bowl
Baked Chicken Nuggets
These Gluten-free Chicken Nuggets are super easy and taste amazing.
You’ll never want to get frozen or take out nuggets again!
Thai Green Chicken Thigh Curry
Dairy-Free Desserts
Chocolate Chip “Cheesecake”-Filled Chocolate Cupcakes
These cupcakes are filled with a rich cheesecake-y filling that’s dairy-free. Delectable. My youngest asked for these made into a cake for his birthday.
Chocolate Almond Chip Coconut Milk Ice Cream
I like my ice cream with lots of chunky stuffola in it. This dairy-free ice cream fits the bill.
Dairy-free and Egg-free Baked Oatmeal
This baked oatmeal not only tastes great, but it’s super simple to make. Just mix the ingredients together the night before, soak overnight and bake in the morning. You’ll never believe that it’s made with no flour!
Chocolate Chia Pudding
Yes, you can have Chocolate Pudding for Breakfast, when it’s THIS chocolate pudding, that is. We seriously have this for breakfast often in our home. We have the carob version as well and have fun adding loads of topping.
It gave me a great reason to pull out some of my “oldy but goody” dairy-free recipes and share them with you all again!
Which dairy-free recipe is your favorite?
have you tried raw milk? we have quite a few customers that are ‘lactose intolerant’ but actually it’s more like ‘pasteurization intolerant’. they are fine on the raw milk. you can check out more at realmilk.com
thanks for the gluten-free recipes
My son has a life threatening allergy which is different than lactose intolerance. He would die. I wish it weren’t true, but it is. Have you heard of anyone who thought they had a life threatening allergy but it was just pasteurization. Thanks!
