Are essential oils a scam? Is Thieves Oil (or other oil blends like it) a scam?

I used to think so! I mean, these teeny tiny bottles of oil smelled nice, but they’re supposed to really be good for you?

Well, here’s what happened to me.

I’m a Skeptic

I’m not one to put my trust in things or people readily.

Really, I’m not. However, sometimes you have to rethink things.

With all that we’ve been through with autism, adrenal fatigue, heavy metals, and more, I’ve been in and out of doctor’s offices, both mainstream and alternative.

Among other things, we’ve tried:

  • chiropractic
  • homeopathy
  • kinesiology
  • ionic foot bath (only once)
  • acupressure
  • tons of supplements (no–I haven’t weighed them.  But if I did I’m scared it would be close to a ton.)
  • nutritional balancing (help based on hair mineral testing. This didn’t really help us.)

Anyway, we’ve tried a lot on our road to healing.  I’ve been really careful not to mortgage the farm (er–our house) while trying to heal my son’s autism, but it’s been tempting at times.

Looking back at that list of alternative medical practices, I guess it’s pretty hard to think that I’m a skeptic, right?

But really I am.

We’ve tried a lot of things, but we really did put a lot of thought into all of these “healing options” prior to working with them, and most of them we aren’t doing anymore.

Either they haven’t worked, or we’ve found something that’s worked better or cheaper.

Before finishing this post, please note that I am NO LONGER USING YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS.

I moved on for various reasons.

To find out what essential oils I’m using now, read this post, or skip ahead to the final post in the series here.

Are Essential Oils a Scam?

Well, the latest object of my skepticism is….you guessed it.  Essential Oils.

I’d heard about essential oils a number of times over the years.

People would tell me how great essential oils were and I’d think, “Yeah, right. You’re just trying to get me into another one of those network marketing things.”

And frankly, putting oil on your body and expecting it to do anything except smell good, well, basically loaded with “woo woo foo foo” to me.

Nonetheless, it seemed that over and over that someone would be telling me about essential oils. Especially the antibacterial blends often called “Thieves” or “Four Thieves” or something like that.

Those blends and the oils in them are supposed to be antiviral, antibacterial.

“Yeah, right. Sure,” this skeptic thought.

I Got Sick

Anyway, about 10 months ago, I got sick.

Really sick.

I had a bad something that I just couldn’t shake. For a long time.

I had fluid in my ear and then my nose – and then both. Three weeks or more passed.  I started asking friends for advice and feared that the dreaded antibiotic would be in my future. One natural-minded friend suggested I try one of these multi-level-marketing company anti-bacterial blends.

I am fine, of course, with taking antibiotics when needed, but I am concerned about antibiotic resistance.

According to the CDC, there is a lot of antibiotic resistance going on and it’s best to use caution when taking antibiotics.

This is how our conversation went:

“I always use that when I feel something coming on.  It’s great!” she said.

“So, do you sell the oils?”  I asked.

“No.”

OK then. Someone recommending it who wasn’t selling it.

Now I was seriously curious and was wondering if maybe the essential oils weren’t a scam?

So I went on a hunt to get some without spending the huge retail price for a bottle.

I got a small sample from a local woman, but it wasn’t nearly enough to deal with my problem. So I called the original person who had told me about Young Living and she sent me a larger sample– enough to get me through a few days.

Three days after I started using the oil I was better.

Good stuff.

(Please note that I no longer recommend taking essential oils internally unless one is under the care of a physician or other medical professional or certified aromatherapist — someone who knows your condition and your overall health.  Furthermore, taking oils internally can lead to damage of the mucous membranes, and essential oils must be emulsified before using with a water base.)

Since then, this oil blend, or similar blends from other companies have helped my family and others with various issues.

Fingernail Owie

I used to be really prone to these–getting an owie just after something jabbed me under my fingernail (for one of them about 5 years ago, I ended up needing antibiotics since it got really nasty).  I hadn’t gotten them for awhile, but I did get one again about 5 months ago.

Colloidal silver and peroxide wouldn’t do anything, so I thought about the “Thieves oil-type” blend.

I stuck a little of the diluted oil on another clean fingernail, pushed it into the injured area – and a few days and several treatments later, the problem was gone.

Viral Mouth Sores

One night, while we were out, my son complained that his lip was sore.  He said he’d gotten bumped.  When we got home, however, there were 6-7 obvious sores, filled with pus (sorry to be so descriptive.)

After doing research on oils and sores, I ended up trying Thieves again, this time diluted with a carrier oil.

The next day, here is what his lip looked like and it was MUCH better than before. (I wish I’d thought to take a photo the first day.  Sigh.)

Herpes Cold Sores

There was no sign of the sores within 3 days.

Lumpy Blemishes

I used to have a rough time with blemishes in my 20s but hadn’t really struggled with any skin issues but rosacea since then.  Suddenly, this past month, I started getting some small breakouts.  None of them really bothered me, however, until I got a large blemish next to my cheek.

I used the anti-bacterial blend diluted with a carrier oil and overnight the lump had shrunk noticeably. Within 3 days it was gone.

Another reader since shared that she’s used one of these blends on some underarm lumps / sores and they’ve vanished.

Sinus Troubles

A local reader who is prone to sinus issues had a bad sinus problem again.

She ended up trying the Immune Strength blend from my favorite essential oils company, and all signs of the problem were gone overnight.

Persistent Illness

Another local reader’s son had not been feeling well for several days that was had become worrisome.  She’d gotten an Rx for an antibiotic but really didn’t want to fill it (see my story about avoiding antibiotics).  She ended up trying an anti-bacterial essential oils blend along with an herbal supplement and said that the next day her son woke up and he was his old self again.

The “Thieves Oil Story”

Thieves-type oils were apparently developed from historical information about four thieves in France who would rob victims of the Black Plague (get it–stealing things off of dead bodies.  Ick.)

They’d protect themselves from the plague with a secret recipe of natural ingredients including cloves and rosemary. The thieves were captured and given a lighter sentence in exchange for their recipe. And it really works.

Now I don’t know if this is a valid story at all, but it’s interesting, and the essential oils involved have been shown to have many antibacterial and antiviral properties.   There are many studies about these qualities including this one and this one.

Essential Oils can be a very valid part of your natural medicine cabinet. I’ll fill you in on more in my next post on essential oils where I’ll talk about Peppermint, Wintergreen and other oils and my experience with them.

And I really don’t mean this to be a commercial.  I am just so floored by my experience with them that I feel compelled to share (some things are just too good to keep to yourself!)

But Essential Oils are Expensive….

Do you feel this way? I did.

So – how do essential oils fit into a “financially concerned” household?

You can buy these blends pre-blended for convenience from the essential oils company that I recommend. You can go here to see how I ended up choosing this company.  It’s a series, so you can read what you like – some of the comments got pretty dicey though.

And when someone gets sick, we don’t go through a whole bottle.  It’s a whole lot cheaper than the gas (whoa – $4 per gallon?!) and copay and maybe an antibiotic on top of it.  And we all know there is more than up-front finances involved with antibiotics and other meds, right?

Additionally, you can make your own anti-bacterial essential oils blend and save a bunch of money that way.

Again, please note that I am no longer using Young Living Oils.

  1. I am new with essential oils, the only testing I have done is smell and diffusing them. YL oils smell more pure then other oils.
I purchased Now brand, Mountain Rose, Gardens Eden, Aroma Land,
and Melalueca. Unless your in the business of making oils, it is hard to know good from bad.

    1. You should read my series on Best Essential Oils. I thought differently and thought YL had a chemically overtone. You might find it interesting. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Melaleuca is a brand name? Do you mean the MLM company?

  2. Have you looked at this? There are 52 sources for this article claiming Gary Young is a complete quack. I am not apposed to essential oils and don’t mean this as a troll post. I am honestly curious what you think. Thank in advance!

  3. Hi all. Reading your interesting posts, above. All this talk of sinuses had me wondering why no one was discussing nasal lavage, or neti pots. These (either/or) have been incredibly beneficial for me over the years and I even had my kids doing it when they were quite young. I learned about neti from an attorney I worked for, and subsequently nasal lavage from an ENT practitioner for whom I worked (I am a medical transcriptionist). I have used them with simple saline, or occasionally with drops I received from the Himalayan Institute when I ordered my neti pot. Just had to share. As far as EOs …

I am so excited about d?TERRA. I’ve been researching essential oils for several years and sat through my first presentation yesterday. Am signing up tomorrow!! This is a fantastic product that — I am excited to see — is for aromatic, topical, or dietary use. The EOs at Whole Foods are very clearly not for consumption. And distilling my own would be a crap shoot, far as I’m concerned. Thanks for all the great info!

  4. I have been researching essential oils the past couple of days and I am VERY interested. I want to start with Thieves. My main goal is to try and stop the sinus/allergy/asthma in my household. I also get frequent headaches, likely sinus/allergy related. It goes on ALL year long for me. It affects mainly myself and my 5 yr old son. I don’t know what is safe for him to use. I don’t really know where to start. Like I said Thieves sounds AMAZING and I really want to try some! Could you maybe point me in the right direction? I would appreciate it so much!!

    1. Regarding the Thieves, I don’t have any left but I do have On Guard from doTERRA that is their blend that is supposed to work in the same way. The thing I have used for headaches is peppermint or deep blue by doTERRA or the relief roll on by Young Living. You can look on my store page where I am selling these things. Thanks!

  5. I’m considering using oils to treat a bad sinus infection that just won’t seem to go away. I know many people that use YL oils and was going to try them, but I’m now concerned after reading these posts. Do you have another recommendation?

    1. Use a neti pot with warm saline solution; add a few drops of colloidal silver and use as normal. Put a few drops of eucalyptus oil, clove bud oil, rosemary and lavender on a cotton makeup round pad and tuck the edges of the pad into the front grate of a fan. Run the fan as you sleep to diffuse the oils in the air you breathe as you sleep. Place a drop of food-grade hydrogen peroxide (3.5% dilution) in each ear, one at a time. Wait until the bubbling slows, then tilt your head to let it run out. Dry off the outside, but leave the inside alone to dry slowly. The oxygen infuses into your inner ear area and helps clear up the infection where the neti pot and your normal breathing cannot get.

  6. I am researching eo and am looking into YL. I have read your posts and I know you haven’t posted your final recommendation. I look forward to hearing your opinions, between food allergies, environmental allergies, horrible sleep issues (especially for me and my 1 yr old), and dealing with ADHD, I am desperate to find something natural that I can do to help my entire family. Thank you so much!

  7. Thank you, Adrienne. There is a d?Terra class tonight I was invited to, but I will wait to sign on until I read your post. It is a busy time of the year, so I don’t want to pressure you. I will just use the YL oils I have to start making the Christmas presents. Thank you so much for all you do.

    1. I’m OK either way. Gotta run. Email me if you need to. I am hoping to get the posts done but things are crazy here.

  8. I have been using Young Living oils, but am looking into signing up with d?Terra. However, I don’t want to do anything until I read your final decision and reasons. I know Christmas time is a busy time, but if you could, I would so appreciate hearing from you before I buy more eo to make Christmas presents (atomizer/spray). By the way, I found bestbottles.com is a great source of glass bottles at a good price. Courteous and nice people; family owned business.

    1. Please let me know when you need to know by. I am hoping to post by Thurs and Friday but of course that depends on how things go the next few days. 🙂

  9. I too was skeptical about eo’s and if they worked, until I had a severe cold. It was two weeks old and I read about Thieves Oil. I didn’t want to spend the money on it so instead went to my local health food store and bought organic oils and jojoba oil as a carrier. It cost me double but gave me 5 times the amount!! and it worked. I read enough to know NOT to take it internally and it is not safe for young children in any form.
I put it on my chest, my feet and my lower back…within two hours I was breathing again!!! I am a convert. My husband had one a couple of weeks later and it worked for him and then for my son, I am sold on theives oil. I have heard of people using diffusers…can someone tell me how they work and what is the best kind?

    1. I just put the drops of essential oils on a cotton makeup round pad and tuck the edges into the grate on the front of a fan. Run the fan and the oils are diffused throughout the room. Voila! No extra equipment needed.

  10. I’m 64 and have had neuropathy many years and have heard the oils might help. (sometimes the pain is pretty bad I have been taking Gabapentin many years and now take Metanx also – they do help). I really feel there are natural products to help and would really like info please. Trying to get fact from fiction is enough to make your head spin! Thank you

  11. Hi Adrienne.
I’m wondering if you have looked into the GAPS diet for your autistic son? Although it is not a “quick fix”, I have read many times over that it is powerfully effective for a variety of conditions, including autism. You can google it, but I’ll give you just one link that summarizes things pretty quick:
    https://nourishedkitchen.com/what-is-the-gaps-diet/
I wish you all the best in your searching…
    Megan

    1. Yes, I have considered it. We are close except for grains and I tried grain free for several months but didn’t think I got much of anywhere w/ it except for an initial apparent detox reaction. So I gave up for now. Maybe another time w/ the broth. Thanks!

  12. Adrienne, you opened pandora’s box:-) Thank you.
I visited a “Seminar” without them mentioning a thing about YL. I was a hidden salestalk to me.
Them I researched…Pyramid Scheme MLM with happy smile dollar eyes people. line sink & hook.

I’ve had it with this crap, people giving me sane advice (eat vegetables & fruit!) and then sell me overpriced stuff. (eg. Alkaline Water : Kangen water device for 3080 €??)

A whole lot of people are sick and need help these days.
And some very bad people are trying to take advantage of them, with a nice smile and a handshake and a bag full of your money.
Therefore I decided: no MLM, even if the product is OK. (which we don’t know)
    “Follow the money” 🙂

Please turn of your PC/Mac for this week and take care of your self, will ya? I’ll do the same.
Thanks for reading. cheers from europe, Mike

    1. Thanks, Mike. I wasn’t thrilled w/ the water device either. Not enough good info to justify it. Well, we’ll see what happens w/ my post. I know where I am going. Just need to pull all the pieces together. It’s already about a 1,500 word post w/ a lot more to write so looks like it will be installments.

  13. I’m so happy someone finally reviewed this compared to some others. I’m not one to take aspirin unless I’m extremely desperate. I’ve used peppermint oil for headaches and it helps but I’m pretty sure it’s not actually 100% essential…will be looking forward to the next post reviewing aura cacia (what I bought before knowing it probably wasn’t what I should buy) I was in a time crunch and didn’t know better! 😉 I’ve been connected w a very sweet lady who sells young living oils and I’ve always wondered does it really work? It has to right? I’ve wanted to buy the package for months but it is expensive and I guess it’s not a huge priority to me yet. Maybe I can use some Christmas money towards it, I really would like to have these on hands when I need something to help me feel better. I’m all about all natural. Thanks for all these posts!!!

  14. what about Be Young EO,have you looked at this company? I’ve heard they are good as far as testing for safety in the way they test in EUROPE- bc in uS there is no testing for EO.

    1. I heard that testing is just as “nebulous” as the testing in the U.S. In other words, a made up certification. I did look at them. Thanks.

  15. I find it very difficult that all of these people would think that young living is for real. How could anyone want to use products that have synthetic junk in them? I have tried doTERRA essential oils and would never want to go back to anything else. doTERRA uses Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils. There are absolutely no “bad ingredients”, synthetic or otherwise. I think you would all be smart to check out doTERRA and start using them for you and your families.

    1. I appreciate your comment. However, I have more to say from what I have found out. Please refrain from writing in false URLs that are mocking in nature when you leave a comment next time. Thanks for reading :-).

    2. doTERRA was created by the individuals YOUNG LIVING’s Gary Young Fired because they lie, lack morals, and integrity doTERRA was created by stolen documents research and ideas of Gary Young if you use doTERRA you are nothing more than a victim.

      1. John, That is an accusation that hasn’t been proven. The case is in court and sometimes, of course, cases aren’t decided fairly in court. Could you also please use your real name…is it Zack or John? I don’t like anonymous commenters – thanks :).

  16. In regards to knowing what company to choose from, hands down to Young Living! The owners of DoTerra used to work for Dr.Gary Young for Young Living Essential Oils. They violated a privacy contract and stole everything that they learned about manufacuturing Essential Oils from Young Living. Right now, there is presently a law suit going on where Young Living Essential Oils is sueing DoTerra for stealing all their formulations when they signed a legal contract of where they were not supposed to dispose any of Young Livings info to anyone nor steal it from them. Plus, DoTerra made false statements regarding the Frankincense Oil which is slanderous and a lie. So I hope YOung Living kicks their butts in court because they are thieves themselves and slanderers! DoTerra is not a company built on integrity, Young Living is! If you knew the story behind Dr.Gary Young who was paralyzed from the waist down and healed himself and many others. He is truly a brilliant, visionary! I am working with a Knighted Doctor here in Canada who has a College teaching the only Integrated Aromatic Science Practitioner Course in NOrth America working along side with Dr.Gary Young. This course is above and beyond Clinical Aromatherapy and they only teach with and recognize Young Living Essential Oils as being truly Therapeutic Grade. I have helped countless people with Young Living Essential Oils and all of their Nutraceuticals that are all infused with therapeutic Grade Essential Oils.

    1. I appreciate your comment, but I have head differently about the DT / YL situation. I guess we will have to wait to see how it all turns out. Take care!

  17. It is unfortunate that you, Adrienne, are moving away from YL. I read many of the posts above and see misinformation about eo’s and YL. If you were to talk to researchers who are publishing studies on diseases like cancer and eo’s, and you spoke to them, you would know they use yl oils. I have done this. I have seen independent lab tests on some companies you mention and their oils are not pure, some even contain large amounts of dangerous substances. As to ingestion, most yl oils have the FDA food chart under their label , not that I’m enamored with the FDA, but this means at least food grade approval. I think you need to visit a yl farm, talk to researchers and get more honest information about yl. Eo’s in purity, digest abnormal cells and leave healthy cells intact, just one tidbit for you. The internet is a blessing and a curse. Anyone can say anything and we may believe it. We all should use due diligance. Airase is a non.profit organization who will be testing eo’s and grading them so we can all see the truth about various companies. You should check them out.

    1. Hi Donna. I appreciate your comment but would really appreciate it if you would tell me where you see misinformation about EOs and YL. Thanks!! I appreciate the heads up on Airase I am going to check them out. I’ve heard something may be coming but I am going to check w my sources and see what they think.

  18. Thanks for getting back. Honestly– no essential oil should be taken internally. There are some oils, like oil of oregano, that are sold in capsule form and can be taken as a supplement. Those are oil infusions and not essential oils. Cinnamon and clove, main ingredient in any thieves oil, are toxic if consumed. I believe, and this is my total opinion, that the oils sold by YL aren’t pure essential oils. I think some of their blends that they tout can be dropped into water & whatnot for internal consumption are perhaps infusions or are combinations of essential oil and carrier oils. Several of the oils I was presented with last night were not pure essential oils– nor were they synthetics.

MRH is very clear with all their oils and clear that none are food grade. However, many of the plants, barks, etc. they use to make the oils are food grade but the resulting oil is not. Pennyroyal for example is a food grade herb, can be used sparingly for teas, but the essential oil is highly toxic.

I’m sure if you email them, and they will get back to you, they’ll tell you that no EO is food grade. Some can, however, be used in small doses for dental care. I personally make a toothpaste from baking soda, a little water, and to 1/4 cup of this paste, I mix in 4-6 drops of peppermint oil, 1 drop of rosemary, 1 drop of myrrh, and 3-4 drops of lemon oil. Before I used this, I had terribly sensitive teeth and early stages gum disease. I was without health or dental insurance for more than 5 years. I’ve used this for that time, just went to the dentist Tuesday, and she said I have the start of one cavity and zero evidence of ever having gum disease. I also no longer have issues with tooth sensitivity.

Instead of turning to essential oils for internal consumption as a means to health– I’d look squarely at different herbal remedies. One of the YL claims was that 3rd world countries use essential oils exclusively in their healing practices. That’s a bogus claim since you need a certain amount of technology to properly distill the essential oils. However, there is wide use of herbal infusions, decoctions, teas, etc.

Thanks again for the article. ;p
    ~Jessie

    1. Very interesting. I am hearing differently that the French school of thought on EOs is that internal use is fine and I am OK with it for right now. But you have given us all good things to think about. And yes, I heard about that pressure distiller accident at YL’s facility.

  19. Hi there– I found your post after doing a little scouting around about Young Living. I would CAUTION YOU AND ALL READERS AGAINST USING YOUNG LIVING PRODUCTS. Especially internally.

I’ve been an herbalist for more than 10 years, and have been using essential oils for about as long. I use Mountain Rose Herbs products strictly, unless I grow the herb/bark/root etc myself. I don’t have any affiliation with MRH or YL. Last night I accompanied a friend to what was supposed to be a workshop about the medicinal uses of essential oils. A friend of hers had attended one maybe 3 weeks ago and told her about this workshop. What it was actually was some meeting of “distributors” for Young Living and reminded me of Avon meets Scientology meets Quack-Science Cult. We left midway through (about 90 minutes into an “all night meeting) and I went home to research the company and D. Gary Young the founder.

I was concerned for several reasons. First, one of the distributors showcased the company’s oil line to my friend and I. I had several questions– namely about the processing, the area in the world where the oils are made, the sustainability of the process, and whether or not the oil was organic. She claimed that since they’re always from “vibrant new energy” plants in “virgin soil” it’s all organic and therefor no chemicals are used. No claim of sustainability, fair trade, or organic was on the product label. She touted their Frankincense as the BEST IN THE WORLD– but what I was smelling in that little bottle was NOT FRANKINCENSE. I know the resiny citrusy scent anywhere. That bottle was a blend of orange oil and a dash of the actual frankincense. Then came the blends, like Thieves. One of them, I honestly cannot recall the name, contained cloves and cassia– both oils YOU CANNOT PLACE ON YOUR SKIN UNLESS THEY ARE DILUTED. This woman liberally poured the oil into her hand, and proceeded to do the company’s “raindrop” method on her hip and the base of her spine. Everyplace the oil touched was scarlet and began to become visibly inflamed. She claimed it was the “evil leaving her system.”

One of the pro-YL posters here claims the company, unlike others, uses only WHOLE HERBS. For many of the essential oils, you cannot use whole herbs but parts of the herb particularly when certain parts ARE TOXIC. Furthermore, Young, the founder and doctors he has had working for YL have been involved with lawsuits, legal action, and even one death as a result of Young’s claims. A man died as a result of Young’s fantastic new ways of distilling essential oil. One of his sills blew up because of it being improperly made. The video they showed last night even showcased sunlight hitting and passing through the oil to make it “more energized”. Sunlight as we all know can neutralize essential oils. Another red flag was when one of the distributors claimed that the company moved their HQ from Utah to Ecuador because they wanted to do good in a poor nation. According to my research, the company moved shop because a woman almost died at a Young Living Spa in Utah after being intravenously injected with what I think was a vitamin C cocktail with essential oils. After 3 days at the spa, her body stopped producing urine. The incompetent staff didn’t recognize that the woman’s kidneys were in distress. Finally, she left and was hospitalized for acute kidney failure. She almost died and did sue. Young settled out of court, closed the spa, and moved to Ecuador.

Finally, besides the manipulation of the distributors (on each other) and especially newbies, was the company’s Seed to Seal claims. They claim that every seed planted for every plant has been hand selected by Young before it’s cultivated, processed, distilled, tested and bottled. They used lavender as an example. Even claiming that the entire country of France is in a lavender shortage because of “bad seed” so guess who they contacted, the French people, to get more lavender? Yep– D. Gary Young. Problem is: lavender isn’t grown from seed. Or it’s VERY VERY difficult to get viable plants from seed. It’s grown from cuttings. There was other evidence of a total lack of understanding about the products and the possible effects on the body of consuming things like Thieves oil. Ontop of that were the obvious ‘plants’ in the meeting touting amazing health benefits (including a relief from total paralysis). Really?

If you want to look into some of the best Essential oils around– go to Mountain Rose Herbs. They sell herbal blends and often publish their own recipes, like for Thieves oil, on their blog. I’m in the process of writing up an article about YL for my own blog. I want people to know how potentially dangerous their practices are and to seriously be careful. Don’t feed your kids essential oils. You can kill them. Essential oils are strong and powerful medicine– topically and for aromatherapy. They aren’t to be taken lightly. Best of luck in your search and Blessed Be!

    Jessie

    1. Thanks! Yes, if you notice, YL isn’t on my sidebar any longer and there are a number of reasons for that. I will be following up w/ a new post soon. But MRH’s oils aren’t produced in a food grade plant so I wouldn’t be using them internally either. What are your thoughts on that?

    2. This is the most incorrect information i have ever read. The WORLD LEADER in Essential Oils is YOUNG LIVING ! Before you make claims on the misinformation you received do some actual research and educate yourself. I have been using Young Living products & Taking Essential Oils internally daily for nearly two decades and have had ZERO side effects. The YL headquarters was never “moved” it is and will always REMAIN in Mona, Utah. The expansion and exponential success and growth of the company has created “farms”,”research facilities” and “clinics” in 7 different countries. If a man died in attempt to create his own oil from a personal built sill it is by NO means is GARY YOUNG at fault!

      1. So Zack, please tell me what you think is incorrect. I don’t believe that the death was from a personal built anything.
