Are you a natural crunchy mama?
I wasn't when I got pregnant with my first.
I was eating a low fat, high sugar, SAD diet.
But things changed while I was pregnant. I'll fill you all in on the details at some point, but here is the kind of parent I ended up being, after being quite “typical” for most of my life.
Within a pretty short period of time, I…
– went from planning a typical hospital birth to having a homebirth (gotta tell that story sometime)
– went from thinking about feeding my baby typical food to breastfeeding exclusively for a long time
– became an attachment parent
– started grinding my own grains
– started using natural sweeteners
– and more certifiably “crunchy” stuff.
One of the things I feel really strongly about is staying close to your baby as much as possible. So many parents put their kids in strollers, bouncy seats, etc., so they can get more stuff done–but then Baby is left alone.
I know–we all need some “space” and I don't mean to create a bunch of guilt here, but I do want to create awareness.
Touch is important. For adults, and kids, but it is really important for babies.
There is tons of research about how important it is for babies to have lots of touch. If you feel like diving into it all, here is a great place to get started.
I know–it's not convenient, but as much as possible, I personally think that wearing your baby, and opting out of too many “gotta get things done and can't spend time with my baby” activities as you can is a good idea.
If you're with me, and you love the concept of baby-wearing, then this giveaway is for you!
Even if you don't have a Little Bitty One in your home, I am sure you know someone who would love to win an Ergo Baby Carrier.
This great carrier is super comfy, is worth over $130 and is one of the most loved baby carriers on the market today.
Believe me, having a nice carrier helps a lot if you are trying to keep your little one close to you.
I didn't have one of these when my boys were infants, but one of my friends had one when my youngest was about 3 and I even considered buying one for him then, since they can hold a lot of weight (up to 45 pounds at least, according to their website. That's a pretty big kiddo!) We even purchased one to help us get into a banquet with our 4 year old on my hubby's back. We ended up not needing the carrier so I returned it. Maybe I'll tell you about that sometime–it's a funny story.)
Anyway, to give you all the chance to win one of these amazing carriers, I have teamed up with Roz from Real Food Family.
Roz has a ton of talent. She is a great photographer, and has a contagious passion for helping families be more healthy. So head on over and check out her blog, and you can head here and give her a Facebook “like” while you're at it :).
You can enter to win the Ergo Baby Carrier in the Rafflecopter widget below, and you can also head over to Roz's fantabulous website where you can get the DIY instructions to make your own DIY Baby-Wearing Wrap !
Cool, huh? So whether you win or not, you can make a wrap for you or a momma in need.
What natural, crunchy, baby-loving mom can survive without a safe, comfortable baby wrap, sling or carrier?
Enter below. I look forward to seeing who wins and gets to carry their Precious One in comfort and style!
The winner will be selected at random by Rafflecopter and entries will be verified before the winner is announced. False entries will disqualify that participant. Winner must be in the US or Canada and must be 18 years of age or older.
Did you or do you use a baby carrier? If so, what kind?
