Young Living Thieves Oil Giveaway (NOW CLOSED!) ~ $41.78 Value!

Young Living Thieves Oil I hope that you all had a wonderful Easter / Passover weekend. We had a nice day, but I hope to do a few more things related to Easter yet this week. Shoving everything into one day doesn’t do my stress level well – can any of you relate? And there were waaaay too many great ideas in my Healthy Easter Treats Post that I would like to try. I personally took a run at the Mounds Bars.  They needed a bit more sweetener in my opinion, but they were a hit. Anyway, I thought I’d start out the week with another giveaway. It really is loads of fun to give something great to my great readers. If you haven’t seen it yet, you first for sure need to check out my post on Are Essential Oils a Scam? ~ A Skeptic Looks at Thieves Oil. I really couldn’t believe how great this stuff works.  And I really was a skeptic. Now, if you’ve been around my blog for awhile, you’ve noticed that I’ve done a few posts on essential oils. I mentioned them in past posts like:

but most recently I wrote the posts on

I really am digging into these oilsto figure out what to recommend to you.  I have

  • contacted numerous companies
  • sampled oils from some of them (5 so far)
  • spent literally hours on email and phone with different oils company owners, representative and customers.

And I’m not done yet. And please don’t assume by this giveaway that I’ve decided that Young Living is the best (See my post on Which Essential Oils Are Best?). I haven’t.  I still have some work to do. But I do like this oil blend.  It’s very effective.  And it has a TON of uses. You can see in that post the ways that I and my friends have used Thieves Oil.

  • onset of cold symptoms
  • cold / herpes sores
  • sinus infections
  • cystic acne
  • skin infections

Other Uses I have seen on the internet include:

    • dental issues
    • add to toothbrush to reduce germs in mouth
    • rub on feet to boost immune system
    • add to laundry to sanitize
    • diffuse in home to purify air
    • add to dishwasher to sanitize
    • dissolve in water and use a sanitizing spray / cleaner

  1. Chapter 4 looks interesting to me today…particularly the chapters on stress and burnout. Chapter 2 looks like a great overview as well. I’m already familiar with Tea Tree oil and use that one regularly for many uses.

  2. I already subscribe to your e-mail feed!

  3. I would like to read the chapter on infants through teens. Wish it came on Kindle!

  4. Tiffany A. says:

Wow, that book looks amazing! It seems like it has everything you would even need to know about essential oils. The section on “visual stress” caught my eye, since my boyfriend and I both spend alot of time staring at computer screens. The bath and beauty chapters also intrigue me, as well as the medical and household use chapters…I guess just about all of it :)

  5. I’d love to read the chapter titled “Essential Help in the Maturing Years” to learn more about how the oils can be used for health maintenance / improvement.

  6. That whole book looks so good! But if I had to pick one chapter, it would be the one on women’s health. I suffer from PCOS and Endometriosis, so it would be interesting to see if the oils helped at all.

  7. I have the Book!! My absolute favorite and have used it for years :) The chapters, The gentle touch for babies & newborns – and A womans natural choice havee been my “go to” most loved in the book.Gardens of the future has been that bonus chapter that I wasn’t expecting and peaked my interest :)

  8. Well while I would LOVE to win Thieves oil, and am interested in the cooking with essential oils section of the book, I am having trouble subscribing to your feed, which prohibits me from further entering your rafflecopter drawing. Good luck with your drawing!

    • What’s going on? Can you try another browser?

      • I’m not sure! I’m not very technical at all so I do not have a clue! It just won’t let me subscribe to your feed! :(

        • If you can email me at wholenewmom at gmail dot com and tell me what is happening I can maybe help. It might be your browser. Sometimes I can’t do things in one but I can in another. Try it in Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari….etc instead. Hope it helps!

        • Amanda, it appears to be fixed. Please go ahead and try again :-) .

  9. Just don’t take this one internally (no matter how ‘pure’) Eucalyptus oil is toxic!

    • Eucalyptus globulus is toxic. The others are fine – from my research. The FDA has OK’d Thieves for internal consumption. I’m glad you mentioned this though!

      • Do you have a link for the FDA approval? Thanks!

        • There are supplement fact on the label that have to go through the FDA. Not that I love the FDA or anything….have you seen my post on the FDA and supplements?

          • I don’t want to burst your bubble, (really!) but Young Living does not have FDA approval for their oils. In fact, the FDA has cited YL. http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2002/ucm144883.htm

            • Just perused this….this citing is for referring to stevia as a food. And it’s from 2002 which means YL has complied or they would have seized products, etc. as they have done with many other companies. The same labeling for internal use is on YL’s oils and on DoTerras calling them supplements– not foods. So they are labeled for internal use as far as I can tell. They mention internal use in their publications and I am sure that they would be cited by the FDA if they weren’t doing it correctly.

I do appreciate the link, however. We all need to work together. This is waaaay too much work for just one person :-) !

            • Hi April. Like I said, I am not convinced that YL is the way to go. In fact, I have concerns about them. But–after looking at these documents, all that I am seeing is the FDA upset about medical claims. Which is why I don’t like the FDA. Walnuts are good for us. Probiotics are good for us. I am convinced that essential oils can be good for us. I just want the purest ones. Did you see something in the documents to indicate that the Supplement Facts on their labeling isn’t the “OK” for internal use? As far as I can tell, the supplement facts indicates that it is OK for internal use. Here is some info from this link:

Only a ISO/AFNOR grade essential oil, such as Young Living’s, which are safe enough to ingest. By ingesting the oils, optimum benefits can be achieved.

I cannot stress this point enough – DO NOT attempt to do this with any store bought essential oil, even the ones you find at a health food store, as they are not pure enough!

INGESTING AND COOKING WITH YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS

It is indicated on each bottle, if there is a “Supplement Facts” box, the oil can be taken internally, so be sure to always look at the label! If the “white” Supplement Facts box is there then yes

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

          • Well, I’m going to have to go with the thoughts of people who are prominent in the essential oil community. The ‘purity’ info from YL is a marketing tool – they use the term ‘therapeutic grade’, which does not exist. (Their is not certifying organization – YL makes this claim themselves.) The link you posted is not from a neutral site, but from someone who is also marketing YL. Safety dictates that oils not be ingested *because* they are too potent / pure / strong / etc to be safely consumed. They can lead to subclinical side effects in addition to more obvious clinical effects. This is because they are so strong, so a more pure / stronger / more potent / etc oil would not make it safer. It would make it even less suitable for ingestion. Only a weaker or diluted oil would be safer Also – Certified Aromas therapists that join one of the two national/international organization are not allowed to use oils internally – it’s against the stated ethics of these organizations. Why? Because it can be extremely dangerous unless under medical supervision. So – because of so many well-known and educated people and groups stating opposing view points, I’d rather err on the side of safety.
The FDA links I supplied shows that YL does not comply with the FDA regulations and has a repeated history of violations. That alone bothers me. The rules simply say you can’t make medical claims, the FDA does not say that ‘x’ isn’t good for you. They simply ask that companies not make medical claims. Essential oils can be good for us – when used appropriately – which in the opinion of professional is not to be used internally unless under medical supervision.
            Robert Tisserand – http://roberttisserand.com/2010/04/therapeutic-grade-oils-read-all-about-it/

            • Hi April. I am not sure how to answer your concerns. It seems like you think that I am stating that YL is without concern. I like their Thieves and I was very surprised by how they helped. I personally feel comfortable w/ using a few lines of oils internally and I have talked to some “experts” about it. I think they need to be diluted with water or food first and you need to be careful where you are getting them from. I have other thoughts to but they need to wait for my next post.

I already said that I have concerns – can you tell me if you are just leaving info or you want a response from me please? I personally don’t know that I care about the violations. Yes, having some “violations” on record might be reason for concern, but really I think it’s an overly powerful government. They think it’s OK to write what a drug will do, but not OK to write what a natural product will do. Did you read my post on FDA, Probiotics and Chicken & Arsenic? I personally spoke with some of the parties involved and believe me, the FDA is not playing nice nor by their own rules.

The “claims” rules with the FDA are hard to sort out from what I can tell. You are right that they appear to have issues, but one of the companies in my post said they did everything the FDA wanted and they still came and seized their property and shut them down.

And if you look at the deaths from drugs vs deaths from supplements, this is preposterous in my opinion.

          • So sorry for all the typos above……… I should have proofread first!

  10. There are lots of areas that I am interested in, but the most pertinent? Menstrual problems… Ugh! It’d be so amazing to try some new solutions for these issues!

  11. I would really love to read about using essential oils for postnatal care and for babies and young children. So many of the natural remedies I have read about are not recommended for babies or breastfeeding mothers. I’d love to learn what I CAN use. Thanks so much!

  12. Really?? You want me to pick just one chapter? Okay, I want the whole book (and may very well get a copy). I am seriously interested in dabbling more in essential oils and really enjoying reading what you are sharing. BUT….to pick one chapter? I think, though, I’d like to read more about pets. I have two cats and hate to take them to the Vet b/c I know they’ll get meds. I’d like to be able to try some oils first to see how it works!!

  13. I’d love to check out the chapter on oils for sports, as I run a lot, and I would love to see what some essential oils could do when I get sore muscles.

    • Again, I am not sure about YL yet as I am looking into things, but the wintergreen, peppermint and things in those families have been good.

  14. Natasha Boss says:

I do have a little experience with aromatherapy, but I would be most interested in reading the section on problem skin. My husband has horrible eczema and we’ve tried so many things for relief with not much success.

    • Natasha,
on the note about eczema, have you done internal work? I just got very interesting correspondence from another oils expert who had very interesting recommendations. My son’s was tied to life threatening allergies early in life and candida more recently. I’d be glad to help as I can.

      • Natasha Boss says:

I’ve been giving my husband suggestions on internal work, but he doesn’t want to make any sacrifices or adjustments in his diet. It’s a tough one. He wants a miracle cure, like most of the U.S. I’m pretty sure his is candida related, and know without a doubt that he has major digestive issues. We’ve made drastic changes in our diet and he still holds on to about 50 extra pounds. It really boils down to him making the decision to go even more drastic. Right now, I’m just looking for topical relief to the burning, itching, and weeping. I’m afraid that that’s the most I can do for him.

        • I would be happy to correspond to you about what I have heard about eczema and oils. I have no personal experience. You can email me if you like.

  15. The section about personal care interests me.

  16. I am interested in the travel care kit section.

  17. I already own this book and have bought some of the oils needed to make some of the skin care products. Haven’t gotten around to making them yet, though.

  18. It was nice to meet you yesterday Adrienne!Good work on your blog! :)

The whole book looks wonderful and I will want to read it all. Chapter 13 is of special interest to me because I am learning to make my own home and body products using essential oil.

I would be interested in reading chapter 4 in regards to self-hypnosis for relaxation. I would also enjoy reading about cooking with Essential Oils, I do so alot, but have never followed a recipe. It would be nice to learn about. :) I do receive your emails {Thank You they are wonderful outlets of information} so I believe I am already subscribed also…..

  20. Wow, this book looks great! I would love to read chapter 16 all about cooking with EO’s!

  21. Michelle says:

For me it’s a toss up between chapter 2 (basics) and chapt 9 (children). I had no idea there would be so much covered in the book either, wow!

  22. Morgan Wilson says:

I would love the whole book! I am most interested in chapters 6, 7, and 8 because I make all of my body care products and I would love to change things up a bit and add different fragrances and healing properties to them!

  23. I’m especially interested in Ch 18: Gardens for the Future and the sections on natural insect repellents and other methods of pest control. I took up gardening a few years ago and I don’t want to be ruining my harvest with toxic chemicals.

  24. Cathy V says:

All the topics look very interesting. At the moment I am most interested in Chapter 6 and the section on Teeth and Gums.

  25. I’m interested in the chapter about the Basic Care Kit – what oils are good ones to always have on hand.

  26. I left a comment above but the rafflecopter won’t acknowledge that I commented.

    • Rafflecopter can’t tell that you commented. You have to comment and do the entry in RC. RC selects the winner randomly and then I check comments and subscribers to make sure that folks did what they said. Hope that makes sense.

  27. Kristy Johnston says:

Wow – what a cool give-away and the book looks very interesting too! I really liked the chapter titles: the body beautiful, essential care for you hair (man… does my hair need it), and the still room (I’d love to learn to make my own perfume).
I’m new to your blog and really enjoy reading!

  28. The Gentle Baby section of the book interests me. I also like lemon oil from YL.

  29. Lisa P. says:

I like the chapter on the travel kit.

  30. Chapter 13 the section on unwanted visitors – I’m thinking pests. Sounds great to have something natural in this area. The whole book is very intriguing.

  31. Kimberly Owens says:

I’m interested in many of the chapters, but I’d like to know more about essential oils for cats. I have a cat with anxiety who takes medicine every day, but I’d love to get her off that vile stuff.

  32. Lisa K. says:

I am interested in the chapters on pregnancy and newborns as I am getting ready to start midwifery school. Very interested in learning more about oils and fascinated about the thieves oil as well.

  33. Stress, stress, stress…..and burnout. I’m thinking about the possibility of going back to school.

  34. Jennifer says:

I think that chapter 6 The Fragrant Way to Beauty Wrinkles and the Ageing Skin looks really interesting. I would love to learn how to mix my own ‘beauty serums”.

  35. Chapter 6 on Problem skin would interest me the most! Although, seems like a lot of great info!

  36. Heather says:

I’m really interested in the basic care kit.

  37. Ch 18: Gardens for the Future is the chapter that most interests me at this point.

Also, on the topic of taking Thieves internally as discussed above in the comment section. We have taken Thieves oil internally for the past 6 years and we have seen nothing but positive results. That being said, we do use it in a diluted form (about 15 drops in an 8 oz bottle of water and then refill that bottle twice more before adding more Thieves).

Our bottle is almost gone and this would be such a blessing to win! It is one essential oil I wouldn’t do without in my house.

  38. Chapter 9 on babies and children!

  39. I like to try the Essential Beauty Serum (Acne Prone)

  40. Chapter on menopause!

  41. Beth Salwaechter says:

I have this book : ) love this book. Currently I am reading up Chapter 18 – Garden for the Future – using essential oils in your garden and natural insect repellents mainly – yes folks, it is that time of the year.

  42. I am a big gardener and would be interested in reading Chpt. 18: Gardens for the Future. Chapter 6 also looks like a good one because my skin would probably fall into the category of “problem skin”.

I am interested in The Gentle Touch for Babies and Children *as I look at my poor little feverish, congested guy sleeping in my lap*

  45. Hi – I would use the oils on the bottom of my feet! My feet hurt all the time and that would be an awesome way to soothe not only my feet but putting the oil there would let it travel to all parts of my body. Ahhhhh

  46. I am interested in the general “kit” chapter but also in the one about essential oils with children and babies.

  47. Jerelle says:

    Chapter 8 on hair care!

  52. Susan C. says:

I am interested in the whole book–I love essential oils! Probably would look first at the uses for women’s issues, particularly menstrual issues. I am currently using YL Melaleuca to cure a fungal infection in my toenail. I think I am well on my way to getting rid of this thing–and if anyone knows how hard it is to get rid of a fungal toenail infection, you know how excited I am!

    • Did you see my testimonial on the infection under my fingernail?

      • Susan C. says:

I did! Awesome! I haven’t tried the Thieves yet, but am anxious to. My cousin is a YL distributor. She swears by oils–she pretty much uses only oils for health, although she does use a few supplements here and there. She did a TON of research on all essential oils (and she is SUPER picky and has impeccable standards for things) before she chose YL. I trust her judgment. She uses them both externally and internally, and has cured strep infections with Thieves, among other things. I’ve also used Melaleuca to heal cystic acne and a deep cut on my finger (it went to the bone–had 3 stitches). I have also tried the Progessence Plus, and the month I took it was the only month that I did not have severe PMS symptoms. When I can afford more, I plan to keep adding to my “arsenal.” Thanks for doing these articles, and for the opportunity to win the Thieves oil!

  53. Holly Willis says:

This book looks great! I am trying to learn as much as I can, but also have to be frugal about it. I would think that the section on children would be most helpful to me at this time since I have 5 of them!

  54. Grammy B says:

Would love to be able to make up my own skin care products and know what is in them.

  55. I like the Medicines of the Earth section. We are from her and go back to her.

  56. The chapters that interest me the most are ‘Basic Care Kit’, ‘Basic Travel Kit’, and ‘Essential Help in the Maturing Years’. I have used a few oils (lavender, rose, and tea tree) but hope to become more proficient as my knowledge increases.

So much I would love to learn in this book; perhaps the Natural Health for Cats is one I would pick first.

  59. Chapters 12, 13, 14 look most relevant to me today, though the book looks awesome. I’m past age of young kids, just got out of the hospital with acute asthmatic bronchitis, hubby and I are disabled by musculo-skeletal stuff and we have an autistic adult son! I’ve been getting more and more interested in these types of things and want to learn more.

  60. I’m super interested in the body/facial uses for oils. Also, though, I’m interested in medicinal/household uses…especially when it comes to homeopathic remedies.

  62. I’m starting from the beginning. I’d love to read the chapter on the home essentials/starting out.

  63. Chapter 6 and 16 look really interesting!

  64. Your Basic Travel Kit looks interesting to me. By the way, did you know that the Thieves Toothpaste works great as a natural deodorant? Just takes a pea-size amount and works even in hot summer.

  68. I am very interested in Chapter 18, using essential oils in your garden. This book has been on my wish list for a long time!

  69. Heather Chupp says:

Chapter 16……I love cooking, so this sounds great.

  70. I’ve wanted to have a bottle of Neroli for some time. Price is a bit out of the budget!

I would love to read more about asthma and other respiratory related treatments with essential oils

  73. Chapter 5 looks interesting. I have used essential oils for a long time and would love to use them more in my hot tub and bath. I also teach yoga and would love to know more so that I make recommendations to my students.

  78. I am interested in enough of the book to have ordered it. But I think I will get the most out of chapter 2 and 16.

  79. Lots and lots of good stuff in that book, but natural health for Dogs stood out, cause we do LOVE our furry babies. :)

        • Sheesh. I’m guessing it’s a browser thing. That means whatever you are using to “surf the internet.” So if you can open up another thing like Internet Explorer or Firefox or Chrome then try that might do the trick. Also on my list would be my husbands stomach troubles. We have found several things that have given him improvement, but still working on it.

  87. I like the whole book from what I read but I think chater 2- Basic Care Kit and Chapter 3- The Travel Kit would be the most helpful.

I’ve been toying with trying to boost our immunity with essential oils since my son is in preschool. Not certain it is working but sure better than Vicks Vapor rub.

Aromamassage is also something i’m interested in.

  91. I’ve been having horrible leg cramps the last few weeks so I’d have to say I’m interested in Chapter 12.

  92. Christine says:

I have a good thorough book on aromatherapy that I picked up years ago and have read through several times. It looks like, however, that Chapter 4 of this book would have some new and useful information for me.

  93. Thought Aromassage looked good (and a ton of other stuff)–always wondered if it mattered where/how I applied the oils topically (just getting started with all this stuff!).

  94. This book looks Wonderful!!! I am interested in Hair, Skin, Nails and Cooking!!!

  95. I am a Happy Subscriber :-)

  96. I looked and am interested in the basic care kit, but what I want to learn is the
properties and the uses of each one, very useful book, going to bye one. Gabriela

  97. I would love this book. It is so detailed and specific, I am interested in taking my essential to new levels in home and pet applications as well as well being for my kiddos :-) As well as some skin issues for myself… oh I couldn’t pick just one or two chapters …

  98. I know a bit about EO, but Chapter 16 is one I know nothing about and am SO intrugued! There is always so much more to learn when you have a little knowledge!

  99. Barbara Beecham says:

I am most interested in the chapters about back problems and stress.

  100. Laura Lane says:

    hair loss

  101. Carrie Moore says:

I am most interested in reading Chapter 18, Gardens For The Future. I have been working on our garden and planning natural methods of weed control and pest control, and I had no idea you could use essential oils. I have some at home and would love to learn how I can use them.

  102. Amanda H says:

I think Chapter 2 “Basic Care” would be very useful in using essential oils daily.

  103. I’m most interested in the Gardens for the Future section.
Amanda recently posted..Show Them Love FirstMy Profile

  104. Kathleen Lester says:

the gentle baby care section is the most interesting to me, as I can always use new ideas for this!

  105. Chapter 17 – natural health for domestic animals has me intrigued. I have a friend who used YL oils on their frozen to the cement dying newborn baby goat and he is now alive and well (nearly 3-4 months later). AMAZING TESTIMONY about how he perked up immediately after having the oils (I believe there was more than one applied) applied.

  106. Interesting book. I would be interested in both Ch. 5 and 6. I have a friend who sells skin care but would like to read up on ways to use oils instead. Thanks for the opportunity!

  107. I would be most interested in the Basic Care Kit chapter to learn how to use the oils listed.

  108. Andrea Pires says:

The whole book sounds awsome! I’m definitely interested in chapter 16, cooking!

  109. i really like the oil charts

  110. The chapter that interests me most at the moment is Chapter 2: Your Basic Care Kit. This is because I’m still learning about how to use essential oils in basic ways! I want to learn so much more about how to use them in all situations of life. Thanks for the giveaway!

  111. Essential Care for your Hair

  112. There really are so many good topics listed there, but I have a football player at home whose muscles could really use a good, natural after-workout rub. I would be really interested in finding out what natural oils would help with that and how to prepare them, as in how much essential oil to carrier.

  113. Hi Adrienne! Thanks so much for this giveaway! I would really like to own this book, but a few chapters of interest would be ch.13: Fragrant Care for Your Home; ch.16: Cooking with Essential Oils; and ch.18: Gardens for the Future. Blessings from Bama!

  114. If I could afford it, Brain Power would be something I need! I would use Thieves Oil to wipe down where someone has been sick, and to put on topically when they are sick. I don’t think I would let them ingest it, though. Blessings from Bama!

  118. ELENA MARSHALL says:

Number 5 for sure!!! With 8 very active kiddos……we could use it!

  119. Chapters 10 and 18 – I’d love to know more about women’s health and Essential Oils as well as gardening! Thanks for sharing.

  124. Christine says:

I have this book on my shelf, but have not looked through it much. I need to read the babies and young children section!

  125. I am interested in several topics: menopause, bronchitis, dyspepsia, bunions and nails/nail beds.

  126. Do you have any idea of how to get the message out to the general populace? Is the medical-model of “health care” too pervasive? I despair of helping those most in need of help and least likely to hear about natural/less costly/limited use ‘medications’.

    • Which message do you mean? The message of natural healing options? If so, I am doing my best by writing what I can when I can. I will do more as I can. You all, great readers – can share the posts :-) !

    • The other thing, of course, is to try natural healing product and share them with others of course.

  127. I already subscribe to your email feed. I’m interested on uses in the kitchen.

  128. HI THERE, I AM A ND, AND AM SO EXCITED TO SEE PEOPLE OUT THERE EDUCATION THE PUBLIC WITH SUCH AMAZING NUTRITION DENSE BLOGS:) WAY TO GO. I AM INTERESTED IN THE MEHTODS OF USE, CHAPTER 1.

  129. Chapter 10 – A woman’s natural choice is what I’m really interested in, but the whole book looks awesome!

  130. Beckie Sommerville says:

I really would like to read Chapter 2 about the basic care kit. I am just starting to gather my oils and would love to know more about the basics.

  131. Beckie Sommerville says:

I already subscribe to the e-mails also. I look forward to seeing what you post!

  132. Topics of interest: stress, burnout and insomnia!

  133. I am already a subscriber. The whole book looks realy interesting! I guess since I am just beginning to get into the essential oils, the chapter on the Basic Care Kit would be the one I would look into first.

  134. I really like the chapter 6 on “The Fragrant Way to Beuty”. I bought into to the whole cosmetic industry crap to buy all their products and look younger etc… been buying a certain “pink” ladies brand that is quite expensive for almost 20 years. When I recently had my 45 birthday, I determined that I am stopping all future purchases of those products and as i use them now, I am looking for all natural, home made products to take their place. I have been using raw apple cider vinegar now mixed with water for toner and LOVE it!! I cant wait to incoporate the rest into my routaine now. :) :) Thanks for the blog! It has really helped me a lot in my quest to go natural now in everything not just beauty products. :) <3

    • You are so welcome! I’d love your proportions for toner – what benefits are you finding from using it? I haven’t used a toner in years! Maybe I should!

  135. Its a toss-up between chapter 9 and 10 because I’m 6 pregnant and I’m all for natural help with all kinds of pregnancy stuff. 10 for the obvious once I’m done with pregnancy part.

  136. The entire chapter dealing with Beauty, specifically facial beauty. So tired of commercial products not delivering!

  139. I saw vericose veins in Ch 12 but all of it looks interesting. Thieves oil really helped with my swollen glands during Lyme treatment.

  140. Kathi P. says:

I’m curious to read chapter 18 with the natural insect repellent and other methods of pest control.

  141. Mandy Brunson says:

I love this book and a chance to win.

  142. Shari Blanchard says:

Chapter 18, Gardens for the Future really interests me. Especially the part about Molds and Fungi.

  143. I think it is chapter 12 about getting older. I think there are some interesting things there I would like to know more about.

  144. Most definitely chapter 2. I need to start off with learning the basics before moving on to anything else. But…chapter 12…Essential help in the maturing years looks mighty fine also…as I am in those very maturing years they are referring to!

  146. I have been researching using essential oils for health and beauty for the past few weeks and this book looks like a great source of info! Thanks for the recommendation. I’m interested in all the chapters actually as I have 4 kids plus a lot of womanly issues! So all about what they do for health is my main interest. I have 3 boys in sports and 1 girl that dances…very strenuous on the body. I never thought about using oils to help their aches and pains. I too am tired of the commercial poisons we are inundated with all the time…

    • Welcome! As I said, I am still sorting out which co to go with, but I used some anti-pain oil last night after my elbow got injured and it really helped.

  147. Jennifer says:

Chapter 9 looks most interesting to me because I have 3 small boys! I subscribed to your site and I liked you on Facebook! I would LOVE to win this!!! We love THIEVES!

  148. Looks like a great book! I’m interested in learning to make my own products

    • If you haven’t already, remember you need to comment on what you like about the book – what area you would like to read – in order to enter. Thanks!

  149. I would love to read the chapter on EO for babies and children. Actually, I’d love to read it all!

  150. Of the many subjects, the one that especially drew me in was Chapter 10 ~ A Woman’s Natural Choice: Breast Care p. 258. I had a scare with my last mammogram, and though it turned out ok it made me wonder what I could use that is natural and safe. I’ve used many essential oils from several companies and use them when making my own creams, air fresheners, in the laundry, car, etc. “Thieves” keeps coming across my path! ~ and so it would be nice to win it an try it. Good Luck everybody!

  151. Chapter 9 on babies and children looks very good!

  156. I’m interested in Chapter 4, The Office. What better place to cut down on unwanted airborne germs? Thanks for offering this giveaway!

  157. applications for the basic care kit is what i’d turn to first……….

  158. I would be very interested in reading the section about using essential oils in the garden. Specifically for keeping away pests, as I garden organically.

  159. DrAmy Butler says:

I can’t wait to learn more about essential oils. Especially for immunity and preventing transmission of illnesses for my office.

  160. How does this rafflecopter work?

    • You have to sign in with Facebook or your email and then you follow directions. Let me know if you can’t figure it out…

  161. I’d love to start cooking with essential oils, so chapter 16 looks really interesting to me!

  162. I really want to learn all about making face masks.

  163. I would love to learn about all of it really; but the Travel sections look good. Especially the “sun” part. I live in Florida so that would be helpful. :) Thanks

  164. I don’t think Rafflecopter is working. :( I left a comment, but when I click on the “entry” it doesn’t really do anything.
I also am already a subscriber, like you on FB, etc. Oh well. :) Thanks

I’m interested in the Travel Care Kit section, but the whole book looks fascinating!

  166. So glad to find you again! I first read your EO posts after a pinterest search! love your truthful opinions, and companies should be easy to reach!! Then I found you again through Titus2sdays – love that encouragement! Now onto your post… That book looks great, and I know coming from you it is probably as good as it looks! I am interested in the baby/child and women’s health particularly, but since I am new to EO’s the chapter on your basic kit seems so worthwhile. Lack of knowledge (and lets face it, lack of cash) have held me back from jumping in. Can’t wait to read more on your EO adventures!! thanks

    • Hi Leisel! Thanks for your encouragement! I can’t believe all that I am learning. It’s going to be a lot of work to share but I’ll get around to it. :-) .

  167. Chapters 6 – 8 look interesting, because I am interested in making my own bath/beauty/personal care oils, etc. Trying to stop using pre-made lotions, creams, etc. that often contain harmful ingredients!

  168. I’d like to read the chapters on babies and children and also womens health issues.

  169. Ashley Veronica says:

I think a lot of it looks really interesting but I think chapter 18 looks the most intriguing to me right now. All of it :)

  170. Deena Casady says:

Wow! Where do I start on which section that interests me the most?! The Teenage Years, The Handicapped Child, Hair Loss, Greasy Hair, Dandruff, The Fat Attack/Cellulite, The Fragrant Way to Beauty (all in that chapter!), Stress, Tummy Trouble, The Fragrant Pharmacy, Essential Help In Maturing Years, Fragrant Care For Your Home! Oh my word, the whole book!! :)

  171. I would love to read the whole book! But Chapter 9 about babies and children in particular interest me. Right now I’m researching where to get some Chamomile EO that is not super expensive but still good quality that will help my baby sleep.

I’m interested in MANY sections, but the ONE I’m most interested in is The Handicapped Child in Ch. 9 :)

    Thanks for hosting,
    Whitney

  173. The chapters of basic care kits and babies and children are what i would read first. BTW; my mother is very ill in ICU what EO would be recommended to either diffuse in her room or rub on her feet. She has some serious infections. thanks.

    • Hi Soccy.

Traditionally, Thieves, or a Thieves-like blend or oregano, have been used for infections. I would be happy to get something to you at a good savings. Just send me an email at wholenewmom at gmail.com. Thanks for entering.

  182. Thieves Oil is the one I’ve always wanted to try.

  183. Debra Mathis says:

Chapter four of Worwood’s book looks extremely practical, and seems to address areas that are not covered right now by my own library of reference material. I am especially interested to read what she has to say about hospital workers. I heard a while back that research had already been done that had established the efficacy of certain essential oils to eradicate unhelpful bacteria, such as staph – which we really need in such settings! I am guessing thyme, rosemary, lavender and melaleuca oils are effective as antibacterial agents.

  184. maureen dunphy says:

Looks like this is a wonderful book !! Two subjects that immediately apply to me are repetitive stress syndrome and eye stress.
I suffered, and at times still do, from repetitive stress syndrome from my occupation.
I also recently found out i have fuchs syndrome, which is a thickening of the cornea.
I look forward to reading your book !
    Thanks, Maureen

  185. Chapters 9 and 10 look the most interesting to me right now bc they address my stage of life however the whole book does look great! I might have to get this one. I added it to my wishlist for now :)

  187. I’d be interested in all of Chapter 12!! Getting up there in years and quite a few things on that list I have an interest in! Loss of Memory, Corns…too many to mention. Very interested in this book!

  188. Ive been wanting to try some grapefruit essential oil. I love lemon and orange in my water and think grapefruit would be wonderful too.

  189. Kelly Howard says:

The one on domestic animals looks really interesting, although the scent for pagan holidays makes it seem like spells, lol! I ordered the peppermint oil as my first oil and I am in LOVE with it!

  190. This is all new to me. I am looking forward to the new adventure.

  191. Hillary M. says:

  193. Would love to read this book! Especially Chapter 9 in dealing with children. Thanks!

  194. This book looks awesome and would be great for my collection! I an very interested in how oils work an their benefits.
We do a lot of traveling so I think chapter 3 would be most great. Chapter 2 also, because I have no oils so a basic starter kit is probably what I should work on first.

  205. Looks like a FABULOUS book! I am pretty new to using essential oils but am LOVING them!!!
