Happy weekend, everyone!
And Happy Valentine’s Day.
I know…it was 2 days ago.
But we had a really icky Valentine’s.
Hubby wanted to deliver my bulk raw almond order boxes to the post office and fix our “been leaking for a long time” kitchen sink.
One of the biggest boxes had flax seeds leak all over it and the kitchen sink didn’t get fixed.
I think I was detoxing heavy metals so I didn’t feel great and didn’t get any special treats made.
Boo.
Last night we ended up making Homemade Jello in little heart shapes, which turned out pretty nicely and I also am taking a run at Sugar Free Candied Orange Peel.
I’ll let you know how it turns out
.
Anyway, enough about us. Here we go with the savings for you!
Free Ebooks Galore
Woo hoo! I love Saturdays because I get to share a TON of these great free ebooks. I really try to skim through these to make sure they are whole foodie friendly and not icky-thrown together recipes.
And maybe one of these days I’ll have a real ebook of my own :)
Remember-these can become “un free” at anytime, so please download them asap.
And make your wallet happy by not buying a Kindle if you don’t have one. Just download Kindle for PC or Mac at Amazon and read on your computer. Well, I guess you could be like my friend who went to a pawn shop and bought her Nook there. Wow. What savings.
Something makes me not really want to go into a pawn shop….but I might reconsider.

The Wonderful World of Dandelions: 40 Fabulous Recipes for Cooking with Dandelions
Ummm…my husband would be appalled if he knew I was sharing this. I had him harvest dandelions out of our garden this past summer because I thought “free food!”
Well, let’s just say it wasn’t a good experience. I learned you should just get the baby leaves. We tried everything. Took too long to clean. Grit city.
The Doctor’s Ice Cream: 20 Healthy, Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free, Low-Fat, All Natural, Ice Cream Recipes
I LOVE ice cream and used to work in an ice cream parlor. Bad idea. Those were my “pre-sugar free” days.
I think I could probably count on one hand the days I came home and still wanted dinner.
If you haven’t checked out my Chocolate Almond Chip Coconut Milk Ice Cream or Mint Chocolate Chip (both dairy and sugar free), you should!
The Frugal Life: The Simple Path to Living a Good Life on a Budget

Locavore U.S.A.: How a local-food economy is changing one community, a chapter from the book Change Comes to Dinner
Very interesting read–single chapter out of a book. What do you think about this?
Healthy Ziploc Snacks
I do not use ziploc bags. They really bug me. I use the bags in this post on storing beans instead.
But mainly I use food containers I can wash out and reuse. But often I’ll reuse my bags if they aren’t too gross.
Some of these snacks need a little whole-foodification but overall there are some really nice ideas in here!
Quick and Easy Slow Cooker Recipes
Many of these recipes lean on cans of stuff like spaghetti sauce, etc., but some are great as is. If you’re good at substituting, then this is a good book for you.
Keep Courting: 100 Ways to Keep Courting After Marriage
I know I don’t write about marriage that much, but maybe I should. Healthy relationships are crucial to overall health.
I skimmed this book and it had some great, easy-to-execute ideas to develop your relationship with your spouse.
Happily Married With Kids – It’s Not a Fairy Tale
Yep – another book about marriage. Likely these were on the free list because of Valentines’ Day. I don’t necessarily agree with everything in this book (that would be rare for any of us anyway, right?) but there are some good points.
Giveaway and Buy Three Get One – Lilla Rose
If you haven’t entered my giveaway, you can still do so. 3 Winners of great hair clips that, believe it or not, contribute to the health of your hair! Honestly, my hair is thicker where I used to have sort of a bald spot from barrettes ripping out my hair.
And there’s a great post on how your shampoo and hair products might be making you sick as well.
Hope to share with you some more natural personal care products soon!

Hope these help you stretch your healthy living dollars. See you next week!

Thank you so much for the great books! Love your blog.
You are so welcome! Thanks for the kind words!
You are so right about the toxins in our health care products. I am excited about the 100% Certified Toxicfree skin and body care line that is now available from Beyond Organic! These amazing products have only organic and wildcrafted botanicals. Sounds like we both have found great options to feed instead of poison our skin and body!!!
I can’t believe the junk in these products. I have heard of the B.O. line (but I do think those initials are unfortunate
.). I actually signed up w/ them but I think I let the relationship drop. Not sure why…..
