One highlight of this week was having some new friends over last night. We’ve been trying to practice hospitality more and while it’s a little stressful pulling things together, it’s been a real blessing.
Dinner wasn’t ready and the house wasn’t perfect at all, but we had a young couple over to have this lovely chili over brown rice and quinoa, with our Moroccan Vinaigrette drizzled on top, and sweet potatoes on the side.
We stayed up too late talking, however, so I really need to get to bed earlier to try to reset my circadian rhythm.
Anyhow, this is going to be a longer post than usual. Since we’re coming up on the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, things are buzzing on the internet.
So I’ve put together some of what I am excited about for you here. Of course, there will be more to come, so stay tuned.

15 Books for 99 Cents!
Really. I know, it sounds too good to be true, but you can really get 15 Paleo Books for only 99 cents total.
This coming Tuesday, November 25, there is going to be a 24 hour sale on 15 paleo books and it includes some of the big names in the business.
I know that some of you don’t eat grain free or follow the paleo diet, but I will tell you that even though I was a skeptic, I am seeing more and more evidence to at least including some grain free meals in your diet. Regardless, these books will add some fabulous variety to your table.
Here are a few of the titles that I am excited to get:
Everyday Paleo from Sarah Fragoso -a comprehensive Paleo guide and recipe books
The Paleo Kitchen by Juli Bauer and George Bryant (it’s a NY Times Bestseller)
Decadent Paleo Desserts by Hannah Healy (I have this one and it’s great!)
The Paleo Sweet Tooth by Allison Russo
The Paleo Solution by Robb Wolf (another NYT Bestseller)
One thing though – You need to go here to Sign Up to Get Access to This Deal on Tuesday.
25% off My New Favorite Cookware
I often get asked what cookware I recommend. This past year, I participated in a great giveaway of Ceramcor products, and I was floored at how amazing they were. But it wasn’t until just this month that I had some Ceramcor for my very own.
They are amazing pans. You can click through here to read about their benefits, but basically they are:
– non scratch (you can use metal utensils and abrasive cleaners on it without fear)
– non toxic
– fridge, freezer, microwave and BBQ Safe!
Believe me, this stuff is great. It is sold elsewhere for a lot more money, but you can get it straight from the manufacturer here.
From now through Thurs., Nov 27th, ’14 (Thanksgiving), you can get 20% Off All Xtrema Products. That includes all ceramic cookware, bakeware, teaware, and FridgeX Storage.
Starts: Friday November 21st
Ends: Thursday November 27th
Sorry, but coupon codes not available on any sale items.
BOGO Raw Protein Bars
I typically make my own um…everything, but sometimes I like to have some healthy packaged foods around for an emergency.
Dale’s Raw Foods Protein Bars are full of such healthy ingredients, and they only have about 5g of sugars (from dates) in each full of protein bar.
I’ve tried 6 of the flavors and they are all great, but I think I like the Vanilla Cashew and Mint Chocolate the best.
My youngest likes all of them. A LOT.
You can get them BOGO through 11/30 at 11:59 EST. Enjoy!
3 for 1 Deal (free $297 value)
If you love the Digestion Sessions as much as I did (I’ve been listening to a ton of the talks), you will want to hear this.
From now until Monday 11:59pm PST (that’s Tuesday 2.59am EST) you can get copies of all of the talks from The Digestion Sessions, PLUS
– You get the Real Food Summit for free (that’s a $197 value)
– you now also get The Paleo Summit for free too. (that’s a $99 value).
I think these talks are so valuable. We’ve listened to a lot of them as a family and it’s done a lot for solidifying our commitment to eating healthy and bucking the SAD Diet system – together :).

Up to 50% off GMO free and Gluten Free Food Storage
I haven’t written about it much yet, but I have been thinking about emergency preparedness a lot.
We haven’t done tons of work on it, but we’ve started. It just makes sense to be prepared because you never know what might lie ahead.
We’ve worked on water supplies (got a few of these containers and purchased a Berkey Water Filter (I am a dealer, so if you’d like a good deal on a Berkey, just email me at wholenewmom at gmail dot com), and are working on food.
I did a bunch of research and ended up becoming a representative for ThriveLife. The main reasons I chose them are:
– high quality (all fruits, vegetables, meats and grains [except instant rice] are GMO free)
– loads of Gluten Free offerings
– ALL of their produce tests pesticide free
– their animal foods have no hormones used in raising, and antibiotics are only used when necessary
– it tastes GREAT. (I seriously have to hide open cans from my kids because they’ll devour it all. Even the meat tastes great.)
You can set up a “Q” (regular monthly order) to space out your orders to meet your budget, and that way you also save 20 – 30% off retail pricing. On top of that, I’m offering anyone who places a $400 order, or sets up a monthly “Q” (monthly order) of $100 or more, 10% off a future order.
PLUS from Nov 28 – Dec 1, you can get up to 50% off everything at Thrive.
Check out everything they have to offer here and just email me if you qualify for the 10% offer.
Free Essential Oils Guide
In case you haven’t grabbed it yet, I am offering for free (yes, it will cost money at some point) my Essential Oils Guide.
I wish I had known all of this when I started buying essential oils. I would have saved um…thousands. Yes, hard to admit, but that’s the ugly truth.
Go here to grab your copy of Essential Oils – 10 Things You NEED to Know BEFORE You Buy.
Free Kindle Books
As always, these books were free at the time of printing but the prices can change at any time.
In case you didn’t know, you don’t need a Kindle or other fancy gadget to read these books. Just download Kindle for PC or Mac here and read on your computer.
This looks like a good book. You might wish to read Why I Don’t Have Fermented Food on My Blog.
I personally don’t advocate a plant based only diet, but this has some good recipes in it.
That’s all for now – see you next week:).
