FREE Wellness Family Summit

Wellness Family Summit

I was so privileged to be asked to participate in the Wellness Family Summit – a great gathering of health bloggers and “experts” to help turn the tide in our “not so natural” culture.

Though the summit has been going on already, you can still catch loads of great talks that are sure to encourage you on your healthy living journey — and you can for sure encourage others to live healthier by sharing this information with them as well.

Starting today, you can hear informative and encouraging topics such as:

– Liver and Gut Health
– The Importance of Gelatin and How to Incorporate It Into Your Diet
– Creating a Natural Home
– Which Foods Support Oral Health

Click here to get free access to this great summit and since it’s hard to listen to all of them (I for sure missed a bunch) you can also click here to purchase all of the recordings at a discount before the price increases (which it will do after the summit is over).

10% off Just Almonds

Just Almonds

If you’re looking for a great place to get great-tasting almonds with no engine fuel, Just Almonds is the place to do just that.

We eat a lot of almonds, mostly because these taste so good (and they’re good for you), and I’ve tried a lot of almonds.

Just Almonds’ almonds taste much better than grocery store almonds and they have great almond flour too.

Split a bulk order with a friend and stock up — a great idea since the drought in CA is likely to cause almond prices to soar.

  1. Hi Adrienne – When you purchase almonds from JustAlmonds, can you sprout them? I’m wondering if the “whole and broken natural” almonds would sprout with soaking before dehydrating them. I was going to order the 25lb organic bag from Country Life Natural Foods but I clicked on your link and JustAmonds is priced MUCH better if they’re equally as “sproutable” (obviously not the broken ones but…). Thanks for any info!

    • Hi there. Yes, I do think you can sprout them – at least they have behaved the same way for me that raw almonds have. I haven’t had luck sprouting as almonds tend to get moldy – have you?

      • I always sprout them (hence, making sure they aren’t so “steam pasteurized” that they won’t sprout still). I’ve never had them get moldy before. Maybe it is how long you’re soaking them or not dehydrating them enough afterwards.? I err on the side of possibly over-doing the dehydrating part to make sure they’re totally dried out and then they’re stored in the fridge as we keep/eat them. You can tell if they are sprouting because a wee almond colored sprout will show at the pointy end of the almond. Have you seen that when you have done it in the past with these almonds? I always wondered why almond extract tasted nothing like almonds…until we ate them this way. There is that sweet “almond extract” taste that unsoaked just don’t have. It makes for much tastier almond butter too. I’ve heard of some people making almond butter out of soaked and not dehydrated almonds but I’m thinking that would have to be eaten in a short timeframe.
Thanks for the info on JustAlmonds. I’d love to hear from anyone else who may soak/sprout this brand to see what their experiences are too. 🙂

        • I mean they molded as I was soaking. Hmmmm…..

I read it was pretty common to have them mold and that they are hard to sprout.

I did some research into if steamed almonds and flash frozen ones were sproutable (even asking those who sell raw almonds) and the consensus was that these can be sprouted. Hope that helps!

  2. Adrienne thank you so much. I was able to listen to some of the speakers in the summit and I am quite thrilled by what I have heard so far. I got a bit disappointed when I was told the page was not available for the free kindle books. I was so glad when I received your email giving the link. I understand how these things go. Thank you once again and do have a wonderful new week.

  3. I enjoyed watching your interview Adrienne!

    • Thank you so much!!! I was upset about how bright my face looked but overall I was pleased :).

      • I thought you looked pretty! And I could tell by your stories how far you and your family have come. That is so awesome. Isn’t wonderful to look back and see the wonderful progress that has taken place? To me it is a wonderful testimony of God working in our lives.

        • You’re too kind :). I had a bad allergic reaction before and after that and my eyes were sooo puffy so it was a struggle to get ready :). Yes, we have come a long way and it’s important to see that bc it’s still hard!

  4. I have a question. If I were to buy a blender though you, which one would you recommend as the best for the buck? I might be able to get one soon, but I need t know which one to buy. I won’t be kneading bread, but I will need to be able t grind nuts into flours, etc.
So, my illustrious friend, what do you suggest? Thanks so much!

    • I would always recommend the Vitamix for sure – get a refurbished to save money. If you are going to be depending on it for grinding flour, however a grinder is better. Email me if you are looking for a grinder. I have a used one I might be willing to sell :).

      • We have a grinder, but it’s manual…It’s a good one, though. Which type of Vitamix would you recommend? I figured we’d have to go with a refurbished one to afford it. Also, since I bought the bundle from you, does that take the 10% off this, or is that just off what I buy from your store? I am planning to buy a dehydrator as soon as we sell our house, so that’s why I’m asking…planning on buying a few good big-ticket items… It’s just going to take a little while.
