10% off, Deep Discounts, Free Books, a $98 off Deal and 10% off Almonds with No Engine Fuel:-)

Over the past few months, I have tried to intersperse my food and health posts with posts on savings and deals on things that I think will help you all trim your whole foods and healthy living budgets.

I truly don’t consider myself to be a “deal blogger” but I do think that passing on deals on things that fit a healthier lifestyle is, well–healthy all the way around.

Including healthy for your budget :-) .

So in the interest of helping you afford a healthier, non-toxic lifestyle, here are some more great ways to save this week.

10% off at Tropical Traditions

First of all, there is 10% off at Tropical Traditions.

You already know, if you’ve been around my blog for awhile, that I love this company.  I use their expeller pressed coconut oil all the time for baking, cooking, and making our sort of famous popcorn.  Well, at least it is famous in parts of my city :-) !

It doesn’t have the smell or taste of coconut which is nice if you don’t care for that.  And it is very reasonable.

I am test driving their dishwasher detergent right now and hope to share with you soon my thoughts on that.  But hint hint….you might want to try some :-) .

Through midnight of Monday, August 20, you can get 10% off your order by using Code 21282, $16 minimum order necessary.

Right now, their expeller pressed coconut oil is on sale  - two 32 oz jars for $25.  With 10% off, your total is only $22.50 which is $45 per gallon.  A really great deal!

You can see all of their specials here.

New customers also get a great informational book on coconut oil that includes a bunch of great recipes!

Deep Discounts at Vitacost

I love Vitacost and got an order of fabulous products this past month.  I am for sure going to be ordering again soon.

You get free shipping for orders $49 or more and if this is your first time ordering you get $10 off your first $10 or more order by clicking on this link.

If you aren’t a first time shopper, I would so appreciate your shopping through this link.  It helps keep my blog up and running!

This month, the products that really look appealing are:

- Kirk’s Castille Soap - $.97 for a 4 oz bar.  Totally pure, clean soap!
-  Native Forest Organic Coconut Milk – $1.98 per can.  I saw this for more than $3 at a local store the other day.  I for sure recommend making my Homemade Coconut Milk, but if you are in a bind, this is a great deal.  It’s also good for making that Coconut Milk Whipped Cream I’ve seen on the web, but haven’t made yet!-
-  Tinkyada Brown Rice Pasta – 16 oz for $2.29.  Great deal for great whole grain pasta.
- Wild Planet Wild Tuna – 5 oz for $2.49 – If you are going to eat seafood, it needs to be wild.  See my post on Mercury in Fish.
- Organic Pumpkin – $1.85 – We use this pumpkin all the time.  Pumpkin Chia recipe coming this fall!
- Hylands Calms Forte – Natural Sleep Aid – $4.79.  I bought another Hyland’s Calm product this past month and it really seems to work.  Check out my post on Natural Sleep Help for more ideas.

Free Books:

Natural Thyroid Help

Late last night I shared this deal on my Facebook page.  If you’re not a fan there, click on over.  I try to share daily things that I can’t post about – because there is just so much time to go around.  I love the interaction there and would love for you to join us.

Anyway, The Thyroid Alternative is now FREE for Kindle at Amazon.  It is on natural healing of the thyroid.

If you don’t have a Kindle (I for sure don’t), you can get a program on Amazon for free to read books on your PC.  Cool deal!

I haven’t read this book, but the reviews look pretty decent and you for sure can’t beat the price :-) !

and I Love Green Smoothies

One more free book:  I Love Green Smoothies.  I am “on the fence” about green smoothies.  There is a lot on the internet about raw cruciferous veggies interfering with thyroid health.  But, I haven’t come down for sure on either side of this argument yet.  Do your research and hopefully we’ll talk about it soon.

But again – you can’t beat the price!

$98 off “Make it Yourself” Pantry Staples Cookbook

Easy Homemade Recipes

This is really a joke.

I mean, the book is a great deal, but the $98 off part is a joke.  At my expense :-) .

The book Easy. Homemade. is available now for only $.99.  Well, yesterday I had a typo in my post about Easy. Homemade. and one of the places where I advertised the price I wrote $99 :-) .  I’m sure no one was thrilled about that price!

Anyway, this book has 60 things you can make yourself and save money, time and icky additives in the process.

Things like:

- ketchup
- mustard
- BBQ sauce

and more.

And it really is only 99 cents!  Yippee!

So, even the English professor’s wife makes typos now and then often.  Ahem.

10% off Seriously Delicious, No Engine Fuel Added Almonds

Just Almonds

And don’t forget – you can get 10% off seriously delicious almonds and almond products from Just Almonds using code WNM.

Compare these almonds to your grocery store almonds – I guarantee you’ll be impressed!

And there is no engine fuel on these almonds.  Most likely there is on the almond you are eating now.  What? Engine fuel?  Read all about it here.

Which deal appeals to you most?

  1. Lol with you Adrienne. That $98 off was too cute! I keep hearing about Vitacost, maybe I’ll just take the plunge and try them out. Take care!

    • Hi Kate. I felt like such a dunce!!! Anyway, you will love Vitacost. I haven’t ever been disappointed. Take care!

Aww! You shouldn’t feel bad! It was just a little typo. More cute and chuckle inspiring than anything. You are an excellent blogger Adrienne. I really enjoy your sincerity and understanding of how difficult health issues can be…along with your very creative solutions and can-do attitude! :)

  2. I would love to get some almonds for dd’s almond milk (and our snacking!), but I can’t find anywhere that they do not use engine fuel (is that the PPO?). If I get “blanched” would that mean no PPO? Thanks for confirming this.

    • Hi Beth – no, blanched just means that the skin is removed and they have been treated w/ warm water. You need to verify w/ the company. Take care!

  3. Thanks, I e-mailed them. I wondered if you had verified since the subheading said no engine fuel. Will let you know if they do. I appreciate your posts.

    • Oh – I am sorry – did you mean Just Almonds? They for sure don’t use the PPO. I wouldn’t be recommending them otherwise. Thanks! You will love their products!

      • Sorry, I wasn’t very clear! Yes, Just Almonds. Thanks for confirming. I will buy from them through you for sure next time I order. I want to try their second grade since I mainly use them for almond milk and our own snacking.

        • Hi Beth. Their discount is only good as long as they advertise w/ me – I hope they will continue to do it, but just saying that when the ad is down so is the offer :) .

  4. Thanks for the link, just bought from Vitacost. GF/CF can get expensive, so I need all the $ off coupons I can get!

  5. I made the buckwheat crepes!
I made the buckwheat crepes and our lives and my grocery list are changed forever.

The boys LOVE them – no talking them into liking them or having to put the hard sell on how healthy they are.

absolutely miraculous recipe – i’ve already got a double batch of batter in my fridge – going to (try) to keep a stock of them at the ready! thank you for helping us get OFF corn.

    Blessings!
