There is no “clear rule” against including processed ingredients in your submission (but we hope you are moving in that direction :-)). So…occasionally you will find some “whole foodie undesirables” in the entries. What to do if you see processed foods and don’t want them?:
- White or brown sugar? Sub in whatever works for you. Get help subbing in my post on Substituting Sweeteners in Baking and Cooking
- Chocolate Chips? Use Homemade Chocolate / Carob Chips
Welcome to Allergy-Free Wednesdays (AFW)–a weekly hop where you share your allergy-free cuisine, gain knowledge about allergy-related topics/issues, and connect with others living or caring for someone with food allergies. From gluten-free desserts to vegan recipes and “Top 8 Allergen Free” recipes, we have something for everyone.
Your weekly submissions are shared on 6 blogs. Each hostess will feature a favorite recipe(s) from the week before. Your hostesses are:
- Tessa @ Tessa the Domestic Diva
- Laura @ Gluten Free Pantry
- Nancy @ Real Food Allergy Free
- Amber @ The Tasty Alternative
- Janelle @ Gluten Freely Frugal
- and–Me :-).
Wondering What You Can Link Up on Allergy Free Wednesday? Anything that’s fitting for an allergy free diet in some way (we’re not that strict). For the complete rules, click here. Starting off with my favorites–and you should check out the other hostesses’ posts to see if you were featured there!

Get a load of these fabulous creations. Which one will you make first?
Fudge Tracks Ice Cream (paleo and V) from Allergy-Free Alaska
I would use my Easiest Coconut Milk for this and a low carb sweetener for the dates. You got me at “Fudge Tracks” – yum!
Homemade Munchkins (GF & V) from Detached & Connected
Munchkins were one of my fave treats when I was young.
Now I can have them again! I’ll a low carb sweetener and my Powdered Egg Replacer.
Homemade Cherry Ice Cream Bon Bons (DF option) from Live Simply
I’ll be making the dairy free version of this for sure. Using a low carb sweetener and my Homemade Chocolate Chips.
Plant-Based Nacho Cheese (GF, DF, & SF) from Living Free
No need to any subs here. My dairy-allergic son can’t wait for me to make this!
and Readers’ Favorite
Lemon Pound Cake with Vanilla Lemon Glaze from Simply 123 Allergy-Free
This would be almost impossible to do egg free, but I can use a low carb sweetener and coconut yogurt. And coconut oil for the glaze.
Which one is YOUR favorite?
Can’t wait to see what you all have to share!
