Allergy Free Recipes

Welcome back to another week of Allergy Free Wednesdays! A collection of yumminess that is aimed at making it easier for you to create healthy, allergy free foods for you and your family. There is no “clear rule” against including processed ingredients in your submission (but we hope you are moving in that direction :-) ). So…occasionally you will find some “whole foodie undesirables” in the entries. What to do if you see processed foods and don’t want them?:

So—-welcome to Allergy-Free Wednesdays (AFW). AFW is a weekly blog hop where folks can share their allergy-free cuisine, gain knowledge about allergy-related topics/issues, and connect with others living or caring for someone with food allergies. Your weekly submissions will be shared on 7 blogs! Additionally, eachhostess will feature a favorite recipe(s) from the week before. Please visit each blog to see their features! Your hostesses are:

Wondering What You Can Link Up on Allergy Free Wednesday?

Basically anything that is fitting for an allergy free diet in some way (we’re not that strict).
Every week I write my own substutions for the week’d favorites to help you along a bit.
For the complete rules, click here.
Here goes – starting off with my favorites–and you should check out the other hostesses’ posts to see if you were featured there!

My Favorites from Last Week (with substitution ideas)~

Healthy Homemade Fruit Cereal Bars from Tessa the Domestic Diva
My kids are BEGGING me to make these.  I would use a candida-diet friendly sweetener and would try to use a sugar-free jam.  Yum!

Chocoholic Recipes from The Tasty Alternative
Too many great chocolate recipes here to not share.

and finally,

Easy and Delicious Lasagna (GF & V) also from The Tasty Alternative
Double feature!
I’ve never made a GF DF lasagna, but I want to now!
I would probably skip the Daiya since it has titanium dioxide in it–Boo!
I am looking into making my own DF cheese – should be interesting, eh?

and Readers’ Favorite

Chocolate Bombs (GF w DF option) from Gluten-Free Easily
These have waaay too much starch for me, but they look amazing.  So I would sub in whole grain and my Homemade Chocolate / Carob Chips.    And I would use my Powdered Egg Replacer.  Bombs away!!

I can’t wait to see what you all have this week!

  3. How would you make the ceral bars grain free? Can you use protein powder? Almond flour? Hemp powder? Coconut flour?

    Thanks!

  4. How do you replace dates in recipes such as those in the chocolate ones you highlighted?

    Thanks!

  5. How ironic! I just happened to view that exact lasagna recipe a few days ago and wrote down the “cheese” sauce recipe. I’m very intrigued, but mostly guarded, as I’ve never found a cheese substitute that really worked. Seeing it posted in your tops gives me hope. It does seem to have the right components though…

  6. Hi Adrienne,

Thanks so much for featuring my chocolate recipes and my lasanga! You’re too sweet. And I usually don’t add the Diaya cheese. It tastes great without. The cashews are so creamy and delicious. The Diaya is just for presentation really, and I usually add it on when I make this dish for “typical” eaters.

Hope you’re doing well lovely lady. Busy planning my best pal’s bridal and bachelorette parties. So fun when a special friend gets married. I’m the maid of honor in this one, so lots do to!

    Hugs,
    –Amber

    • I can’t wait to try it!!! My son can’t have cashews so I am thinking the expensive macadamias maybe :) . Have fun. I have had a bit of a rough bout but trying to hang in there. Concussion from roller skating. Blah. Helmet next time.
