Low-Carb Substitutions

To make these recipes low-carb, just use a low-carb sweetener like xylitol, stevia, or erythritol.  If the recipe calls for chocolate chips, use a low-carb version or make these Homemade Chocolate Chips.

If the recipe calls for peanut butter, sub in another nut butter or seed butter.  And if it calls for cashews, those are fairly high in carbs so you might wish to sub in a different nut.

  1. Just love this round up Adrienne! I have had many of these recipes so can attest to their deliciousness! Thanks for including me!

  2. What a beautiful roundup of healthy treats for Easter! Thanks so much for including me. Happy Easter!

  3. Wow, this is quite a roundup you put together, Adrienne! I saw Maria’s cadbury eggs about a week ago and was eyeing them…one of my old favs too. 🙂 Thanks for including my Andes mints! I hope you enjoy your weekend.

  4. I too am getting more pop-ups and find it particularly ironic that all those healthy treats come with McDonald’s ads attached.

    1. Lorrie – I removed the popup – what are you seeing? There’s a new one but it’s different and you still should be able to close it out. Could you tell me please? Are you able to close it out? The ads are a tough thing. As a blogger, it costs a bunch to run a blog and I need to make it up somehow. I have tried to work with companies with “only healthy ads” but there really is only 1 I have heard of and they aren’t an option from what I heard recently. I draw the line at scantily clad women and try to catch them all and block them. Thanks!

      1. I am trying to send a screen shot but I’ll have to send it in an email…it won’t let me attach it to this reply. I am able to close them out (they show up on each picture in the post. A bit annoying but as I said, more than a little ironic 🙂

        1. Got it – it is odd. I will see what I can do. It’s all a balance – this blogging. Hard to keep on top of everything too :).

  5. Sorry to report this, I could simply not read your last two posts at all on my iPad, so many pop ups and in particular the one for a free cookbook that could not be clicked away. Had to switch to my desktop. I have no problems with other blogs. Now that I have read this one on my desktop, lots of good ideas.

    1. Oh no. What a mess. I’ve been trying to get a good pop up but that is a mess. I’ll fix it – thanks.

  6. I’m with you on the Cadbury Mini Eggs. They were the highlight of my Easter Basket as a child. I’m still tempted to eat them now, even though I know they’re trash.

    1. I’m tempted too, Julie! It’s hard every time I see a bag. One reason it’s good not to go to grocery stores too often :).
